Where to find a Winke Scent Suit

Bill , thanks for all the educational information that you have put out there over the years . I’ve been bow hunting for a long time on mostly public land where the deer are always spooky . Best scent suit I’ve ever had was the Winke scent suit . Ever heard of them ? Cabelas discontinued them for some crazy reason. Any thoughts on how I can get something similar or next best thing . Thanks

Thanks for the support. I appreciate it. I know all about those suits as you may have guessed! Unfortunately, I had to buy my last one and that was a fluke to even find it. 

I had a few I got from Cabela’s when we developed it, but mine all got tattered in brush and barb-wire fences and were pretty beat up – so I bought one from a guy that reached out to me via e-mail.

There may be a few floating around on E-Bay, but I can’t guarantee as I have not checked.  As for what else comes close, well, unfortunately, nothing that I know of has the same features that suit possessed. 

I may go back into making them again. I spoke with Ev Tarrell at the recent ATA Show (he was the guy at Cabela’s that I worked with to develop the original model). 

Ev no longer works at Cabela’s and is out on his own with the new Code of Silence apparel brand that he is just launching.  He doesn’t make anything like the Winke Suit in that line, but he did express some interest in developing another version. He was a big fan of the garment too.

Maybe someday I will make another one.  Until then, you are stuck with trying to find leftovers.  Good luck. (1/27/22)
