Small Plots for Giant Bucks | Winke Classic Hunts – Nov.10, 2016

My best spots to hunt over the years have been small openings in the timber close to larger fields. The deer stage in these small plots before going out to feed, producing close range shots in daylight – the perfect recipe for bowhunting success. These spots are also good in the morning too, as this hunt demonstrates, as the deer filter back into the bedding areas for the day. It is the first place they are on their feet in the evening and the last place they are on their feet in the morning.

Great advice Bill. I’ve been following you for over 15 years now. I remember that hunt quite well. I have you to thank for getting me interested in small plots back in the timber. Now that’s mostly what I hunt, and with great success. Thanks Bill for all your on hunting and land management.
