Whether Ozonics is Worth the Price

Kenny from IL asks,

Bill, I’ve watched you in the past using Ozonics. I’ve been considering getting one for this season, but I’m a little skeptical. In your experience, do you feel it works and is worth the cost? Also, do you plan to add to the website in the future? I don’t think I’ve saw anything new in a month or two.

Ozonics

Ozonics does remove some human scent from the air. I have tested the technology and it works. I am not sure exactly what percentage it removes, however.

Kenny,

I do plan to add to the website. I have a number of things I need to load on here. No excuses. Just haven’t gotten to it.  Regarding the Ozonics, I do believe it works but not 100%. Almost nothing works 100% short of getting into a scent-containing ground blind.  That does work 100% (or very close to that).

So the question regarding Ozonics comes down to value.  Is it worth it?  That is a harder question to answer.

Let’s assume that in good situations where the wind isn’t blowing too hard that it removes 50% of your airborne scent (I am not sure of the exact amount). Knowing that some scent will still likely reach a deer 40 yards away, is that worth the cost?

I think the real value of any scent elimination effort is keeping your hunting area fresh longer by reducing the distance at which a deer can smell you.  That is a realistic goal.

Again, value is hard to assess. If you have plenty of discretionary spending money, then yes, it is probably worth it. If you are having to save up for a while to buy one, then maybe it is not worth it at this time. Sort of like a new bow, do you really need one to shoot a deer? No, but it might make things a bit easier.  Good luck.  (6/28/21)
