Reliable Trail Cameras

Simple trail cameras are often good enough to give the information needed to get your season off on the right foot.  There are some reliable ones on the market for around $100.

Nelson,

I have tried Muddy, Reconyx, Bushnell and Cuddeback. Right now I am mostly using the Cuddeback cameras.  They do have some fairly sophisticated models that connect to each other using a local area network and others that connect to your cellphone, but I mostly used their simplest model, their H-1453. This one has proven to be easy on batteries and I own four of them and none of them have failed in the past three seasons.  You can find them for around $100 most places by just doing a web search.

The other cameras I have used have had a few more features than this simple model, such as field scan or time lapse mode, but it is hard to beat the Cuddeback H-1453 for price and reliability.  Good luck. 4/25/21
